TikTok has a huge global user base. People from all over the world use TikTok daily. Its demographic spans across younger and older generations. It is a powerful platform for reaching a large and diverse audience.

Influencers have existed on other platforms such as Instagram and YouTube, but there is a massive amount of influencers on TikTok. Many of these influencers promote products and brands. They shape trends and are a big marketing tool. Many companies have taken advantage of this and I would argue that TikTok has encouraged and caused more consumerism than ever before.
