Best Adult Romantasy Series

I have been an avid reader since I was in elementary school. It all started with those rainbow fairy books. And we can't forget about the Junie B. Jones books. When I entered middle school, I started reading more of Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. I always loved fantasy books. I remember turning the hall light on, because it gave me just enough light to read in bed after curfew without my parents knowing. In high school, I stopped reading for pleasure because I had to read so much in my classes. The same happened to me in college.

Recently, I have discovered the wonderful world of BookTok and BookTube and I have started becoming a reader again. My main genres of choice are romance and fantasy. There is one series in particular that has taken me out of my (very long) reading slump and has encouraged me to get into reading again. That series is "A Court of Thorns and Roses" by Sarah J. Maas.

This series combines romance and fantasy to create the term BookTok uses as "romantasy". It has a big romance subplot. The series takes place in a magical world with both humans and faeries. There is the human land and then there is also Prythian, which is the faerie land. The faeries have magical powers, while the humans do not. You learn the politics between the different lands. You also follow our main characters, who you learn to love and relate to. I don't want to spoil too much of the book, but if you are a lover of romance and fantasy, this series is for you.

There are 5 books in the series. There are rumors saying that Sarah J. Maas is currently working on a 6th book. I am currently about 15% into the 5th book. I recommend this to everyone, whether you love reading or are just getting started. The author's writing is exquisite and the characters are so lovable.
